The Many Adventures of Maddie Mae

As promised, a post with pictures of our little sweetheart! They are not all in perfect order, but at least they are finally on here!

She's had all sorts of adventures thus far, namely one: sleeping. :) . She particularly likes to sleep in her daddy's arms...

Brant officially celebrated Father's Day this year. He received the all-time best present: a baby girl!

Maddie had her first bath, and it was quite the experience! I don't know who was more scared, Maddie or her parents...

We enjoyed a Sunday afternoon stroll on the Portland waterfront. It was our first outing as a little family. It sure felt great to get outside and away together!

My mom read Maddie her first book. It was really sweet and fitting for this to happen because mom had given her this book, and the title just happens to be "Baby's First Book". Cute! They both really enjoyed it.

More bath time cuteness!

Happy 4th of July!

Maddie has had many visitors over the past few weeks...here are some of the snapshots.

Auntie Sarah and cousin Ellie at the hospital the day Maddie was born.

Uncle Seth and cousin Zoie.
Grandma Kris and Grandpa Pat with their second granddaughter.

Cousins, Adalie and Kylia with baby Maddie.

Grandma Martha with Maddie.

Uncle Justin and his first niece.
Grandpa Dale.

Auntie April.

Auntie Amber.
Great Grandpa Doug and Grandma Martha.

Great Grandpa Hal and Great Grandma Erna.

Great Pop-Pop and Great Grammy.

Graham and Kelsie visited from Seattle the weekend Maddie was born. It was great to see them and so special to have them make the trip just for us!

Sarah and Noah were so excited to meet little Maddie Mae.

And so was Sarah's mom, Nancy.

Whew! That was quite the post of pictures. Thanks for taking a look. I think it's time to take a break, and Maddie agrees...

A much needed Maddie update

Hello, faithful blog readers. I haven't forgotten about you. In fact, I think about the need to post more as each day passes. A lot has been going on since our baby girl arrived, specifically, having a baby girl to take care of!!

As you can imagine, she takes up most of our time. We are loving every second we share with Madelyn. She is such a sweetie! The learning curve for parenthood is pretty darn steep, as we have quickly discovered. We are just beginning to recognize and determine what her cries mean and what her facial expressions mean. As soon as we feel like we've "figured it out", she goes and changes it on us. :) Oh, what a trickster we have on our hands.

Maddie had her first pediatrician appointment last week and looks great! She weighed 8lbs 7oz, which shows that she is eating well and has passed her birth weight - hooray! Her weight is in the 50% while her height is in the 74%. That's our girl!! :)

I've had several people ask me if she is sleeping through the night. We're not there yet...but she has given us several 4-5 hour stretches! Of course last night, she gave us a few 2 hour stretches. Once again, she goes and changes things on us right when we think we have it all figured out.

Maddie has met so many family members and close friends over the past 2 1/2 weeks, all who have simply adored her. She's pretty adorable, I must admit. I promise to post pictures this week. In the meantime, just know that she continues to be absolutely perfect. :)
