After our visit to Den Haag, we drove into Delft. This was our second evening visiting this beautifully quaint city. The first night, we arrived for dinner, only to be greeted by pouring down rain and most every shop and restaurant closed (it was after 5pm
and it had been New Year's Day). So for our second night, we made a point to arrive prior to 5pm, so we could be extra touristy and explore the dozens of Delftware shops in town.
Delft is a really beautiful place. It reminded me a bit like a larger version of Kampen. I haven't compared sizes, but I wonder how much of a difference there is. Delft feels different probably because it is sandwiched between both Den Haag and Rotterdam, giving it a bit more of a big feel, rather than being surrounded by countryside, like we are in Kampen. Regardless, we all enjoyed our stop.

What a difference from the awful rain the night before. It was a beautiful evening!
|
The market was going on when we arrived - again, so similar to Kampen (and all over Europe, for that matter).

I'm not sure why I am getting so much more into this pose than he is.

Another stunning European skyline.

Charm.

I can't get the picture to turn, but you get the idea....this was the beautiful, hand-painted Delftware bowl we found. It was an early birthday present from my parents - thanks, Mom and Dad!
So happy you are living in Europe! So thankful to have had this spectacular tour with you and your family!
