Kinderdijk

Our next stop on our road trip was to the Kinderdijk, which is a group of 19 windmills built around 1740.  The group of mills is the largest concentration of old windmills in the Netherlands, which makes it one of the more popular Dutch tourist sites.  We actually hit it during the one month when it is closed for maintenance, which simply meant we would not be going into any of the windmills (and we all agreed, after our exclusive and in-depth tour of the windmill in Kampen, we didn't need any other tours).

The town of Kinderdijk, across the way.
This storm rolled in right after we left.  We made it just in time.
These two couldn't be more in love!
Maddie wanted to get a picture just like Grandma and Grandpa...
Geoffrey became really good at keeping Grandpa's head and ears warm, because he left his hat in the car.  In fact, every time Geoffrey sees Grandpa on the computer, he puts his hands up to the screen to "warm up his ears."  :)

  1. Jackie, this is awesome! When it is done, please compile it in book form. I will pay for it. I want to be able to access this trip through your eyes for years to come. Thank you for doing this! I love you - Dad
