Brant had a birthday this week!! We have a lot of traveling plans coming up, so we decided to keep his birthday on the simple side - but still making it special (I mean, it's a birthday, so I can't let it go uncelebrated!). The day started with a special breakfast at home, birthday cards from Maddie and me (Geoffrey didn't seem to notice that he had been left out of the birthday card crafting from the day before), and an extra special call from our dear friends, Micah and Hannah. Brant went to the library in the morning, and we met up with him for a picnic lunch, direct from a local bakery!

| Somebody is a coffee drinker now, being a European resident and all. |
 |
| How great is it that we can all enjoy lunch together, on a weekday? What a treat for our family. |
 |
| Well, I tried to capture them all. It was a good effort. |
 |
| Everything about this picture makes me feel like a blessed mama. Our kids have a daddy who loves to play with them. |
We had a real treat that evening - our friends, Clay and Bekah, watched the kids so we could go out on a dinner date! This is the first time we have been out together, without our children, since we arrived in Kampen. Whew! It was amazing, to say the least.

| What a handsome man. |
 |
| Wouldn't have it any other way. |

| A view from our bike ride, of this fall-like day. |

| Happy man, with his Dutch burger. |
 |
| When we returned to pick up the kids, I had one last surprise for Brant - a mini birthday party with the Cooke family! I had picked up a few special treats from the bakery for us all to sample. The kids were particularly thrilled. :) |

Happiest of birthdays, to the love of my life. It was a wonderful day, and my joy to celebrate 32 years of you!

(PS .. the country and buildings are reminiscent of Princeton!)
