Writing a blog post about a graduation ceremony is tricky. On one hand, this is such a huge deal, and not only does it need to be documented, but it should captivate the very essence of what happened on this day. On the other hand, most everyone reading this blog has been to a graduation, and/or has read about past graduations that I have posted in here (because, let's be honest - we've had our fair share!), and reading about
another graduation is not terribly riveting. So to keep the balance (and interest), I will be relying heavily on the pictures I took to capture the highlights of the ceremony, and keep it at that.
The graduation was held on Saturday, June 13th, at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena.

| It was about a 5 minute nightmare, trying to save all of these seats, while a strict "do-not-save-seats" rule was in high force. Thankfully, we managed to get 95% of our crew in the same row! |
| Baby Joy had the right idea...we arrived at 8:30 to get a seat, and the ceremony did not begin until 10! |
| It was a beautiful scene and service. |
| So, this happened... We had a rousing game of "Graduation Bingo" going on, to help pass the time during the ceremony. It wasn't necessary at all times, because some of the speakers were quite engaging, but for the other moments, we had a good time. ;) |

| They called his name! (And his school was at the very end of the list.) |
| Dr. Brant Himes, PhD |
| YAY!!!! We made it!!! |
| The proud parents, who raised a fine young man, who just earned his PhD! |
| Brant with Grayson Carter. What a wonderful mentor, supporter, colleague and friend. |
After the ceremony, we held an open house for Brant, and were blessed by so many friends and family in attendance. I really did not take too many pictures, but this gives you a good flavor.
| This girl was born at the very beginning of Brant's doctoral journey. She is SO proud of her daddy! |
| This picture is fabulous on every level. |
| So fun to be surrounded by those we love, and truly celebrating!! Congratulations, Brant!!! You did it!!! |
