Brant's Hooding Ceremony

One of the graduation events that took place at Fuller, was the Hooding Ceremony.  This was a beautiful evening, where we gathered with other theology PhD students and their families, enjoyed a light reception, followed by the ceremony.  Aside from being officially hooded, each graduate's faculty mentor spoke about the graduate, and then the graduate had a chance to say a few words.  It was an intimate occasion which we all appreciated, particularly because the actual graduation ceremony was enormous.  We enjoyed being able to focus on these graduates, and hear from their hearts about what this journey has been like.

Beforehand, we made sure to take a few pictures on the Fuller Campus, since the graduation ceremony would not be held there the following day.  (In case you are wondering where the flocks of children are, they were back home with a babysitter - best decision ever).
He's finally here!
So happy to be walking life with this man.
Proud parents, Martha and Dale.
Brant, with his Uncle Ken Himes, who is a Fuller Alum.
Very proud big brother, Seth, with his Dr. baby brother.
We were overwhelmingly blessed to have all of these family members in attendance for this momentous occasion!
Dr. Grayson Carter, his faculty mentor, hooding Brant.
A congratulatory handshake from President Labberton.
Receiving the words and blessings from Grayson.
Brant, giving his remarks - for the record, yes, he did publicly acknowledge me, and yes, I did cry.  The "release" from this journey sort of keeps coming in waves!
The hooding ceremony was very special, and a wonderful kick-off to the graduation ceremony the following morning!  Stay tuned!
