We left Buffalo, New York at 10:45am, on Tuesday, September 1st. We slept in a bit on this day - we were tired!
We went to Niagara Falls! There is not a word in the dictionary that can single handedly captivate what we saw. Pure beauty, magnificence and power. We were all overly impressed. (Somehow I think that is possible, even if it doesn't sound right. :) ). We toured around the falls for a bit and we decided to take a ride on The Maid of the Mist. This is the boat that takes you right up next to the falls. We put on our free ponchos (I had a big one over me and Maddie, who was in the front pack), and held on tight. We sure did get soaked, but it was so worth it! I posted earlier that I didn't have my passport and everyone else would be going over the Canada. Shortly after I posted that, I found out that Dale and Martha didn't bring their passports either, so we all were able to stick together. That was nice. And you know, perhaps the Canada side has the "better views", but I certainly did not leave that day feeling as though I didn't get a good shot. It was all overwhelmingly breathtaking. I promise (as I do most days), that I will post pictures soon!
We ended up hitting the road toward Princeton at 4:00pm - late! We figured we had 6 hours of driving to do, based on the mileage, with an additional 2 hours for all the stops. Boy, were we off! We only stopped for dinner and feeding Maddie once, but we severely miscalculated how long it would take us. For some reason, our directions had us enter New Jersey, and the greater Princeton area on the back roads. Let me tell you, when you are like me, nervous and anxious to see your new territory, seeing it in the dark around 11:30pm on windy and empty roads, really doesn't make a girl too excited! We pulled into our hotel at 2:15am. Enough said. We had finally made it.
