Let me start this post by apologizing that it has no pictures of our current place. If you could only see the mess we are living in right now, you would cut me some slack. You are lucky enough that I am even posting! It's 12:00am over here in New Jersey - I should be asleep! However, I am not, and I wanted to grace you with some cute facts about my sweet baby girl.
My in-laws, Dale and Martha, left us yesterday morning. It was sad to see them leave and officially be "on our own" in New Jersey. Just a side note, the culture shock from the west coast to the east coast is UNBELIEVABLE! I didn't expect to be this swept away by it all, but I am. I can get into those differences another time; that is not the point of this post.
Anyway, for 2 days now, we have been alone as a little family for the first time since Maddie was born. We've either always been with family or friends for the past 2 1/2 months. It has become evident that we are on our own when Maddie makes some noise to get our attention. The poor girl just wants someone to play with her, and I've become quite accustomed to someone else always jumping at the chance to step in. However, I am beyond thrilled to be able to be only one of two people who can do that now.
Maddie Mae is smiling all of the time! She is cooing and gurgling and discovering every possible sound her voice can make. She is so darn close to giggling I can hardly stand it! Its no wonder I haven't finished unpacking our house yet. She is irresistible and I thank God every moment of the day that she is ours. It is such a blessing and quite honestly, a pick-me-up during this transition to have her with us. I can't imagine doing this without her.
