Here is our main living space. It is right off the front door and the first thing you see. We bought some "new" furniture, as in new to us, but gently loved by someone else. This couch was $69 and the chair was $69, and the ottoman was $25! You've got to love living in a college town, huh? We also purchased all of the rugs that you see in these pictures, as the entire house has wood floors (old wood floors). You can also catch a glimpse of the "Peace Plant" my loving family sent us to welcome us to our "home away from home". I absolutely love it!!
The main room has an 8 foot sliding glass door that goes out to the patio and shared green space. There are several children in this area and toys are everywhere. It looks sort of trashy in this picture, but I think that is due to the fact that the weather is quite stormy and dreary today. The apartments you see across the way is the building our building has a BBQ with every Monday night.
Through the dining room is our quaint kitchen. Although it is small, it has a dishwasher (!), which is a step up for us, and has lots of little splashes of red, which I love. I'm quite pleased with it. The picture does not show the other part of the kitchen, which includes the gas stove/oven and the fridge - but you know what those look like.
Here is the main hallway that leads from the living room to the bedrooms, although this shot is taken from the opposite angle. The main reason for posting a picture of the hallway is for my Dad; I wanted to show him that we found a place for the mirror to hang - the wall feels good and sturdy for the heavy mirror, Dad! It looks great!
I hope you enjoyed the picture show! The only thing missing is YOU! Come for a visit, we have lots of space to blow up an air mattress and let you stay awhile! :)
Looks like you guys have done an amazing job of settling in quickly! Your place looks great! I must say that the first thing I noticed about the kitchen was the DISHWASHER (even before I read your comment about having one!) :o)
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!! You are so good at making a place feel warm and welcome, Jackie!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you are nearly settled. Your home looks great! Like Kelsie, I also noticed the dishwasher first :). I also liked the Northwest touch of the art in the kitchen too!!
