(I will post pictures to the blog soon. This is purely for journaling purposes. :))
Two days of school have successfully passed. And I mean, SUCCESSFULLY! Maddie is a superstar and loves her school. She is attending de Morgenster (The Morningstar), 5 days a week, from 8:30-12:00. She has two teachers, who job share throughout the week. There are about 25 kids in the class, all age 4. I am floored at how well things are going for her.
We pulled up to school today, a few minutes early as other people were arriving as well. Maddie burst out a happy, "Hello, Everyone!!" My initial instinct was actually to say, "Shh..," but I resisted and said, "Maddie, you are such a friendly girl!" We went to her class and she found her way around quite well. She was excited to see her teacher again, and showed her the new backpack she got yesterday, along with the new "undershirt" for gym class. She was very proud and excited to share these things with her teacher.
When it came time to leave, Maddie gave a big hug and kiss to Geoffrey and me, and happily said goodbye. And when we stopped in the doorway to look back at her, she smiled, waved and blew kisses. It was very sweet and reassuring, and God sis clearly telling me that Maddie is going to be okay - in fact, great!
What an amazing example she is. I am SO PROUD of her!! She is embracing this experience and taking it on with such confidence. I can't say that I know many people who could do something like this so well. God is blessing us and encourage us through the happiness and peace of our baby girl.
Feeling blessed indeed.
Wonderful to hear. You are doing a great job giving her confidence.
ReplyDeleteLove you!
I think she gets that from her momma! So glad to hear, but totally not surprised that she is thriving!
