Daddy/Daughter train adventure

Brant and Maddie had a little adventure together a few weeks ago.  Brant, as many of you know, was serving as a juror on a trial that lasted 3 weeks.  One of the only perks of the ordeal was the free metro train ticket Brant was given, in order to commute to downtown LA each day.  He was incredibly busy with all the jury service, work, studying, moving details...you know, stuff.  Regardless, the kids were missing their Daddy, particularly Maddie.  She was fine with the fact that Daddy had to "go to his mediums" (meetings - not sure why she called them "mediums" :) ), but she certainly asked daily when he was going to be done, so they could play "all day long."  Well, he took that message to heart, and near the conclusion of his time serving as a juror, he took advantage of the train ticket (and the free ride Maddie gets for her age), and they went out on a train adventure.  Maddie loves, loves, loves trains, and had no problem taking off with Daddy for this.  She assured me that I was going to miss her so much, but that she would come back.  I missed her so much, that Geoffrey and I went shopping.  ;)

Daddy surprised her by taking her to the big fountain.  She said, "Daddy! Did you bring my swimsuit??" :)

After she changed, Daddy took her to Starbucks for a special treat - an apple juice (a treat in our house) and a cake pop!

I love that they went on a special adventure, just the two of them.  Maddie talks about this date every day.
