A heat wave well into the triple digits was looming on this particular weekend, and we knew we
had to escape our hot little apartment, or things would get really ugly real fast. We decided upon a day trip to Huntington Beach, one of our favorite So Cal beaches. It was perfect weather, not hot, and not too crowded. We arrived around 10:30am and had our plan all laid out, which worked perfectly.
To start things off, we rented a 4-person surrey bike with the fringe on top. :) (Perhaps you know the well-loved song from "Oklahoma" - or from "When Harry Met Sally," during the karaoke scene). Of course, it really wasn't "fringy," more like a canopy. I digress. Anyway, we rented the bike for an hour, which was the perfect amount of time. The kids had an absolute ball, as did we. It is an absolute repeat for another visit!

| The weather was cloudy and muggy, but so much better than the 109 in Pasadena!! |
| Love these two so much. |
| Geoffrey, trying to help "drive." The thing is, my steering wheel did not steer the bike whatsoever, it was all Brant's. But at least I had one the kids' could both mess around with. |
| After our bike tour, we had lunch and window shopped around town for a bit, while Geoffrey took a nap. Afterward, we got into swimsuits, and hit the beach! |
| Don't know why, but the boy just loved to dive and lay in the sand, while swishing around in it. |

| Everyone out, to beat the heat inland. |
| What a fun day! So glad we made the choice to go to the beach. |
