Maddie and I had the privilege of attending a birthday party at the LA American Girl Doll Cafe. Maddie had never known anything about American Girl Dolls before this party. Me, on the other hand, grew up on the front end of this phenomenon, personally saving my allowances to buy two of my very own dolls - Molly and Addy, to be specific. :) (This was back when there were only 5 dolls on the line to even choose from - now it is quite astonishing at the product line they have!) I loved my American Dolls, spent great care in saving my pennies to buy them, and took extra special care of them.
I digress. :) So, Maddie was invited to a birthday party at the cafe in LA, which is just a small restaurant located within the enormous two-story American Girl Doll store. The lunch was very special, and each girl was invited to bring along their own doll for the afternoon. Unfortunately, my 2 dolls were still up in Oregon at the time (which we have now since reconciled and Maddie has in her room), so we could not bring them with us. The cafe provided several dolls for Maddie to choose from to "borrow" for the duration of the party. She thought it was fantastic and had no problem with the fact that it wasn't her own doll. We had a delicious lunch, yummy dessert, fun with girlfriends, and even a goody bag of fun things for her doll to take home. The little girl in me was bursting with happiness!

| Her doll was thirsty, too! For the lunch, the girls were given cups and saucers for their dolls to borrow. So cute! |

| Goody bag! It came with a shirt for her doll, the balloon that the doll is holding, a book and a few other things. She loved it! |
